If you are looking for an experienced 1940s act who can deliver, then look no further!
Prices start from as little as £250 - but do please get in touch to discuss your event and receive an accurate quote. Your date can then be reserved for an agreed period of time. Prices are very much dependent on the length of time singing, and the distance to travel from Jane’s base in Bury, Lancashire. So please provide as much detail as you can about your planned event.

A Whole Host of Possibilities
Every year Jane undertakes a full diary of both public and private bookings, ranging from 1940s weekends to air shows, transport festivals and other heritage events. Jane is also regularly booked privately for family celebrations, weddings, by hotels, social clubs, garden parties - and many more far too numerous to mention. Please don’t hesitate to contact if you have an event in mind.
Setting The Scene
Jane will arrive in good time to set up and pack down after your guests have departed. There’s no disguising modern equipment – we want a great sound! A little creative set dressing - camouflage and netting - helps to disguise it. Be sure to leave sufficient room for the sound desk, and for Jane herself to perform.
And, of course, feel free to dress your room. Jane can bring her own mini-stage, with a little backdrop if needed. You may want to purchase in advance small hand-waving flags. Oh and most importantly... do ask your guests to come in their 1940s attire! We can’t wait!

How do I check Jane's availability?
Please check availability by calling direct on on 07530 387271 for an informal chat. Alternatively, you can fill in our contact form, providing your date & time, location and event information. We will get straight back to you with an idea of costing options. Once you have enquired, your date will be provisional for two weeks. On confirming, a contract will be provided, which will secure your booking.
How much does Jane charge?
Based on your requirements, we can then provide you with a cost. Please note, Jane is competitive with comparable 1940s singers of a similar experience and standing.
How do I know which songs Jane will sing?
Jane has an extensive repertoire of 1940s songs, both British and American, ranging from traditional singalongs to dance numbers. The theme of your event will dictate which songs are the most appropriate for Jane to perform. Rest assured, we will discuss this in detail with you at the time of booking.
Does Jane have her own equipment?
Jane uses the latest Bose upright system, the Pro 32. She also has a Bose L1 and the small Bose S1 battery speaker – which is great for doorstep singing or when she used it recently on a canal cruise for a party of North American knitters! She uses both the vintage style cable microphones and also radio when cables are not ideal. Jane is also happy to work with inhouse speaker systems or the event-hired sound technicians with their equipment where a larger system is needed.
How far will Jane travel from her home in Bury, Lancashire?
Anywhere. Travel expenses, if applicable, will be included in the quote.
Does Jane have public liability Insurance?
Yes, a copy of the current certificate can be provided to your venue if required. Before setting up any equipment or props, we routinely carry out a health & safety assessment, with the aim of minimising any potential hazards.
Is Jane's equipment safe?
All electrical equipment is fully PATS tested. Again, a current certificate can be inspected.
Does Jane arrive on her own?
At every job she is accompanied by her manager, driver, roadie, sound engineer, assistant and occasional DJ. Happily, all those roles are undertaken by just one person - her trusted sidekick, Dave!
Is there anything I need to provide?
Sufficient time to set up in an area large enough to perform, with a changing room/area, and access to electricity points. Refreshments please, depending on how long the event is on for.
Does Jane only sing 1940s?
Jane also sings as the Vintage Singer, ideal for Weddings, Anniversaries and corporate singing – with a range of vintage material or modern sang in a vintage style.
